Bo’s Harrowing Condition
When the Street Dog Rescue team in Oklahoma first discovered Bo, they were horrified by his condition. Left behind by his owners in a decrepit doghouse, Bo had been alone for an untold amount of time. His health had deteriorated severely—he was suffering from mange, and his body was covered in sores. To make matters worse, he had been attacked by coyotes, leaving him with even more injuries that had never been treated. Faith, one of the rescuers, described the heartbreaking scene to The Dodo: “Bo was actually attacked by coyotes. He was never taken to a vet or even prior to that. He just had mange all over him.”
When the rescuers first approached Bo, they could tell he was starving. They offered him food, which he devoured quickly, a clear sign that he hadn’t eaten in days. It took the rescuers nearly 45 minutes of patient effort to finally get Bo out from under the house. Once they succeeded, Bo was taken in by the rescue organization Pyr Paws and Fluffy Tails, where his journey to recovery could begin in earnest.
Bo’s Road to Recovery
Bo was transported to a veterinarian clinic in Oklahoma, where he began receiving the care he desperately needed. He was treated for mange, and his rescuers ensured he received proper nutrition to help him regain his strength. When his new mom, Patricia, first saw a picture of Bo, she was shocked by his appearance. “He looked so terrible I didn’t even think he was a dog,” she admitted.
However, under the care of the rescue team and Patricia, Bo’s condition slowly began to improve. As weeks turned into months, Bo started to look healthier and more like the dog he was meant to be. Patricia, who had experience working with rescue dogs, knew Bo deserved a loving home where he could heal and thrive.
