While it’s a great ideal, not all dogs have the luxury of a home with a yard. Reese’s Puffs was one of those dogs. The sweet red Aussie Shepherd lived his entire life in apartments, only getting to explore the outdoors during walkies.
But then came a game-changing moment: Reese’s family decided it was time for a new home—one with a yard!

Reese’s family, based in Austin, Texas, had always dreamed of moving into a house with a yard. Until now, they had been living in an apartment, and while that was fine, they knew they wanted more space for their beloved Aussie.
The day finally arrived when they found the perfect house with a backyard, and without Reese knowing, they moved their things into their new home. When they brought Reese to see the new place, he was curious but unaware of the big surprise.
In a heartwarming video featured by The Dodo, Reese eagerly explored the new home, sniffing around and recognizing the familiar scents of their old belongings. And then he saw it—a glass door leading to a backyard.
Reese’s reaction was priceless. He looked at the yard with a mix of disbelief and excitement, as if to say, “Really? Really? Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy!”
The Backyard Bliss
Reese was overjoyed. He didn’t just check out the yard; he played in it for hours. His excitement was so palpable that it made the whole experience even more special.

The only challenge that came with the new yard was getting Reese to leave it. Now, he’s so attached to his yard that walks have become almost impossible unless his four-legged buddies are tagging along. But once he sees them, he’s more than happy to join in.
At the end of each day, Reese flops down in his backyard, savoring the space and freedom. The once apartment-dwelling pup is now living his best life, enjoying fun zoomies, sunbathing, and all the room he could ever want.
