In Colorado, Logan was adopted by Alison Dickson and her family. From the moment they met him, Alison and her family were drawn to Logan, despite his timid and frightened demeanor. He was thin and unsure, but the family saw the spark within him. “We went to meet him and I remember walking away, like, so we just met our dog,” Alison recalled.
The early days in his new home were challenging for Logan. He was cautious and anxious, fearing that any misstep might result in him being abandoned again. However, a change in environment brought about a significant shift. Alison and her family, who are avid nature lovers, introduced Logan to hiking. This new experience helped build his confidence, and he began to realize that he had truly found his forever home.
Logan’s transformation was remarkable. As he embraced his new life, his athleticism and excitement for outdoor adventures became evident. “He is such a great athlete. He knows when my hiking bag comes out and he just gets excited,” Alison said.
The Dickson family didn’t stop with just Logan. They went on to rescue Phoenix, another mutt, and two cats, Milo and Lucy. Logan and Phoenix quickly became best friends, and the cats integrated seamlessly into the family. Logan’s protective nature became evident when Alison’s husband was away on business trips. During these times, Logan took on the role of the family’s protector, always vigilant and watchful.
Alison likens Logan to Gandalf from “The Lord of the Rings,” describing him as a steadfast protector with deep emotional connections.
